(0) III |651| SOLUTION TO THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY

Did the Joker win by bringing
Harvey Dent down to his level
and forcing The Dark Knight to
take the blame for his murders
to maintain Gotham,
thus forcing The Dark
Knight into
the cynicism
of a lie?

No, because Gordon was
privy to The Dark Knight's
sacrifice and Gordon is
the only good man of
Gotham.

Better still,
Gordon learns
The Dark Knight's
identity at the end
of The Dark Knight
Rises in compensation
for having been kind
to Bruce Wayne when
his parents were
murdered.

Ultimately thought,
however, the Dark
Knight chose
his ideal over the
truth: Harvey
Dent should
have been
held to
account,
no matter
the fate of
Gotham.

Outside the
scope of The
Dark Knight
Trilogy, my
suggestion for
the Batman
universe is
that Martha
and Thomas
Wayne feigned
their own murder
to force Bruce into
his destiny as
Batman, i.e.
to test
him
and to
reunite
with him
if he had
passed the
test.

I also
feel that
Batman needs
to be with
Poison Ivy
rather than
Catwoman.

Reunited
with his
parents,
Bruce Wayne's
new role is no
longer to fight
crime as Batman
but to Direct Wayne
Enterprise by serving
Thomas Wayne, its Founder,
and answering to Martha
Wayne, its President.

Bruce Wayne serves
Thomas by making
him laugh with pride
and answers to Martha
by making her blush
with delight, all the
while seeking to
make a Beneficiary
of Wayne Enterprises
out of Poison Ivy in
order to gain her
hand in marriage.

Martha Wayne
instructs Bruce
Wayne by
purifying
his soul
and Thomas
Wayne supervises
Bruce Wayne by
crushing his ego.

Meanwhile,
Poison Ivy
is amused
by Bruce
Wayne's
courtship
but is
ultimately
uninterested,
except in so
far as she
can use
the
resources
of Wayne
Enterprises
to heal
Planet
Earth.
